Are you a small business?
Yes! We are a we are a small business located in Toronto, Canada.
Where are your products made?
Our products are made in Turkey or handmade in Toronto, Canada.
How do I care for and use my kese/pestemal/headband?
Everything you need to know can be found in our care & use how-to page.
Why should I use a kese?
Using a kese to exfoliate have many benefits:
- removes dead skin cells
- prevents body acne
- prevents ingrown hairs
- allows products to penetrate deeper (lotions, serums, oils, etc.)
- tightens skin
- improves lymph and blood circulation, (which may increase your body's ability to remove toxins)
- makes skin look brighter
- helps remove self-tanner
- helps in reducing cellulite
- accelerates skin regeneration
- feels great (as it is essentially a body massage)
Also, Sende keses are made from cellulose derived viscose, compared to most exfoliating gloves on the market which are made from polyester.
Is there such thing as over exfoliating? Can I exfoliate every day?
Exfoliation may have many benefits but too much of a good thing is never good. Too much exfoliation can damage your skin. It is recommended to use the kese every 10 days or longer, to prevent your skin from getting irritated. Daily use is not recommended. Also, some skin types are more sensitive than others, so be sure to feel what is best for you.
Why should I use a pestemal?
Our 100% Turkish cotton pestemals are made with extra-long fibers, making them smooth, strong, and long-lasting. They become softer, smoother, and more absorbent after every wash.
Versatile, pestemals can be used as a scarf, sarong, table cloth, hand towel, picnic blanket, throw, wall textile, and the list goes on.
Great for travel, they are compact and dry quicker than regular towels preventing bacterial growth. At the beach, they don't hold onto sand and look great.
Whats the difference between a pestemal and a regular towel?
A normal towel typically has large loops that absorb water. Pestemals do not have these large loops, but are woven to be flat and with the trims hand tied/twisted. Due to this, they tend to be smaller/more compact, faster to dry, and are known to become more absorbent and softer with every wash.
Why are your products from ___?
After all our research and product testing, the quality, weaves, and product effectiveness/feel of our keses and pestemals can only be found in Turkey.
As for the hand made headbands, this is something we wanted to make ourselves, where we live, in Toronto. We were able to use satin that would have no other purpose to make one of a kind headbands by our own hands. We enjoyed the time to make them and love how each one is unique based on the sizing of the fabric pieces we found.
